There is a great story about creativity at a Japanese soap company. The company had received a complaint from a customer who had bought a box of soap that was empty. Having discovered that some boxes left the factory without any soap, the company decided to solve the problem. How? The company purchased an expensive scanner to scan every box that was on the assembly line and had two engineers look at each package. This seemed to work, but it was very expensive. One day, a regular employee at the factory came up with the brilliant idea to simply put an electric fan at the end of the assembly line, which would blow Boxes that were full would be too heavy and would not be affected by the fan. Thanks to his idea, the company was able to completely solve the problem at a low cost.
