Taegeukgi is the national flag of Korea. During the late Joseon Dynasty, as the major world powers came to East Asia, the need for a national flag to symbolize the country became clear. The first record of the flag dates back to 1882, when Park Yeong-hyo reported the creation of the Taegeukgi to the governmenat. In 1883, it was officially used as the national flag after being circulated across the country following a government order. Taegeukgi has many meanings. For example, the white background stands for peace, and the circle in the middle shows the harmony of yin and yang. Yin (blue) and yang (red) are two opposite forces that make up everything in the universe. Yin is dark, quiet, and cool, while yang is bright, active. and warm. Together, they balance each other and keep the world in harmony, illustrating that opposites can work together to create balance. Additionally. the black lines in the four corners represent heaven, earth, water, and fire. Finally, Taegeukgi was officially adopted as the national flag of South Korea on October 15, 1949.

Do you want to know some facts about New Zealand? Well then you've come to the right place. You can read on for more information about this beautiful country. New Zealand has two main islands, the North Island and the South Island. The South Island is home to the highest mountain in New Zealand, Mount Cook, which rises to 3,754 meters. New Zealand has more than 50 volcanoes, and some of them are still active today. Sharp snowy mountains, rocky beaches, and green grass create a fantastic landscape. As it‘s far away from most countries, New Zealand has unusual wildlife. For example, the world's only parrot that cannot fly is in New Zealand. Another animal that is only found in this country is Hector's dolphin. It's the world's smallest dolphin, and only grows to about 1.5 meters long. Also, New Zealand is home to one of the world's heaviest insects, which is called the weta. It weighs about 70 grams. That's very heavy for an insect. It's hard to imagine an insect of that size. Do you like sheep? In New Zealand, there are a lot of sheep. There are nine sheep for every person in the country!
